things uttered by the up and coming smart ass
I've said this before... Little Bear has made this amazing transformation. In two short years he's gone from only saying a handful of repetetive syllable words like mama, dada, baba, and no-no, to a boy who speaks in complete sentences. I can't always understand him and sometimes he has to repeat himself a half dozen times before I can figure out what he is trying to say but holy cow, he talks.
Well, in the last few weeks, he has gone from talking up a storm to connecting thoughts and ideas that seem too advanced for a boy his age and with the delays he experiences. His teacher even said that he displays an advanced understanding of certain concepts and obscure humor (gee, I have NO idea where he got that gene, HA!)
I thought I'd share with you some things that have been heard around the Grumpy Bugg house lately.
When a helicopter flew over the house LB said, "Look, mama! Breaking news!"
After, I told LB(again)that NO he could NOT have candy, he said, "Hey, don't talk back to me, mama." - that didn't make mama too happy.
When I turned on the Today Show one morning, he said, "The Today Show again (very put out)! I want Cartoons.
The other night when SNL came on and the opening scenes showed Amy Poehler, LB said, "Hey, it's Amy Poehler! She's the Mighty B!" If you haven't seen her new cartoon, the Mighty B, YOU MUST WATCH IT. It is hilarious. And then you will understand what I am saying when LB makes me say everything like I am her. "It's Awesome." You'll see, really, trust me!
Nickelodeon was playing ET a few nights in a row and LB really wanted to see it but we kept missiing it, so I Netflixed (love you guys!) it for him. He watched it a million times and now says, "ET phone home" all the time.
LB was playing with HOHO in Nana's back yard and he hit HOHO with his sword and yelled, "I'm kicking your butt! Round 2, I'm kicking your butt, again!"
When he saw a car parked in a handicapped spot without a tag he said, "Hey, they shouldn't park there, jerk." (oops, that sounds familiar, hmmmm, I wonder who else says that, hmmmm.)
And, now when a fly buzzes around him he says "Stupid fly is bugging me." (and he laughs - "Get it, bugging me", god, he is totally my kid for sure, stupid puns come with the package). At least he doesn't say, "Stupid F***ING flies", which is what tends to pop out of my mouth when I am highly annoyed by the 8 zillion flies in my house. Hoho opens and closes the back door no less than 85 times an hour and lets all the stinking flies in. Arizona is full of frigging flies. I don't know why but I hate them.
When LB does/says something he shouldn't and gets in trouble, he has taken to getting this big as you please grin on his face and saying, "I'm, sorry, I love you mama",(without even one ounce of sincerity, so smarmy).
And finally, LB is fond of saying, "knock, knock...who's there?" and then while you are still confused about why you didn't get to say who's there, he gives you a completely random nonsense answer, like, "daddy, doorbell!" HAHAHAHAHAHA! He thinks it is uproariously funny.

WOW.. How fun is that.. The knock knock jokes, yea that is how Eli started telling his jokes for quite some time.. Todays joke is Why do Seagulls fly over the sea? Because if they flew over the Bay, they would be Bay-gulls! I actually laughed!

That is the best entry I've read in a while! I love how he's putting things together and the sense of humor is hysterical. I always thought he looks more like you anyway! (and Hoho looks like B)
