please please please let me get what i want

Ever have a day that ends in a completely different way than you imagined? I had one yesterday. I spend the day cleaning the house, doing the laundry, and cleaning the carpets. In the evening, I had planned on taking a shower and having a relaxing dinner with grumpy and the boys. Then we were going to watch a movie and go to bed. Really, our normal routine.

Well about six o'clock as I was in the shower the phone rang. I ignored it since I was showering and Grumpy was over at his mom's using their grill. A minute later the phone rang again. Then a minute later it rang again. And then again. Finally, I figured something must be wrong so I got out of the shower and answered the phone.

It was my brother-in-law. He said "What are you doing?" I told him I was in the shower and he proceeds to tell me they are supposed to be leaving for the Morrissey concert. waaaaaa.

Sidenote: Now, if you know me, you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE Morrissey and The Smiths. I knew about the concert but it was sold out before I could get tickets. So I was jealous that they were going.

Anyway, he tells me their son started puking and was pretty sick. At first I thought he was asking me to babysit the sick kid but it turns out my s-i-l decided to stay home with the sicko. So, guess who ended up going to Morrissey last night with her b-i-l? Yeah, It's me. It's me. And it was FUCKING AWESOME. That is truly the only way it can be described. And b-i-l loves Morrissey as much as I do so we had a great time together. I don't usually get to hang out with him one on one so it was really special. And since my birthday is in two weeks I consider it one of the best birthday presents I have ever gotten in my entire life.

There is a light that never goes out.
