fragile - must be italian
I am the proud recipient of a leg lamp for Christmas. I have wanted one for as long as I can remember. It is the small version, which is perfect. It is now my bedside table lamp. Me likey.
Strange things have been afoot in the Bugg house. I haven't been writing because my mother is here for far too long a visit (almost a whole month) and I just can't have a moment to myself. Absolutely no privacy. It's frustrating.
On New Year's Eve my dad (who is deceased) showed up to say hello. I swear it. I have a music box that my parents gave me when I was about 7 or 8 years old. The painting on the lid is a Norman Rockwell painting of a girl and her brother swinging together. The song it plays is Fly Me to the Moon. My dad loved Frank Sinatra. My dad and I danced to that song at my wedding.
Anyway, I was standing near the cabinet where the music box resides, taking off my shoes, when I heard several notes of music. I haven't wound it in years so I couldn't figure out what made it "play" like that. I sat down on the couch to watch a movie. Then I heard it again and even my mom heard it from the kitchen table. So, I half jokingly said "dad's here to say Happy New Year." For the next forty-five minutes every thirty seconds or so the muisic box would play two or three notes of music and at one point it played a whole line of the song. Then it just stopped. It was crazy.
The Little Duck is trying to kill me. Yesterday he took only one nap that lasted one hour. Then he went to bed at his normal seven pm. He then woke up crying at 11pm, at which time he drank a whole bottle of milk.
He went back to sleep and I thought all would be well. I went to sleep at almost midnight. At 1am Little Duck started screaming and crying.
He did not go back to sleep until 11am this morning. WTF??
Nap, please!
By the way, the movie we watched was a totally cheesy 80's movie called Modern Girls. It was ok. But, we watched it because it is the only movie in which But Not Tonight by Depeche Mode was used. And I loves me that song with a passion.
