like i said, rednecks

What is wrong with this place?

I know we live out in the boonies. I get it. I mean there is nothing but desert behind our subdivision. We are the last road out here. The air smells like manure most of the time from all of the dairies we live beyond. We live past the GM proving grounds which used to be considered out in the middle of nothing. Most of the people in our neighborhood drive F250 trucks and think they are too small. They own like three of them and let their kids and dogss ride in the bed on the highway. Kids ride four wheelers at top speed with no helmets down the street. Our neighbor has a toddler that plays in the middle of the road in his diaper. Someone shot out all of the street lights down our street. People go out into the desert to drive their dune buggies illegally. No one even stops for the flashing red lights of the bus when it is stopped in front of my house while little bear is getting on the bus to go to school.

I get it already, you're rednecks and you like it. But why, why, why did someone feel the need to leave the severed legs of some poor animal in the middle of the street? Why?

As we drove by the other day I thought they were pieces of wood, but Grumpy was like "holy crap those were legs, they had hooves!"

I just don't even know what to say to that. And they are still sitting out there. I'm sure no one else has even noticed because they all drive 60 miles an hour down the road which has a 35mph speed limit.

gah!

First off I would like to say that all of these spammer comments are pissing me off and I am even more pissed by the fact that moveable type gives me an error on page when I try to delete the little bastards.
gah!

I am feeling better today. Our neighbors are still rednecks, as demonstrated by their behavior last night, which I'll explain later. But, I am starting to feel better.

Partly because I saw the most amazing documentary last night. I am a way behind the times in my movie watching for sure, but I finally hooked up with Netflix and am making a dent in the movies I've missed over the last four years.

So last night I watched Paperclips. I highly recommend it. It makes you want to be a part of something so important.

And I have a new star crush. Holy crap, how this hottie escaped my attention before I'll never know. Just watch Dear frankie and you'll see what I mean. Gerard Butler. Yum, yum, yummy. I do so love a Scottish accent. My, my is anyone else a little warm?

woe is me

I am depressed. Not in a suicidal, crying my eyes out, not able to function way but nonetheless I am depressed.

I should be happy. I have a lovely house and life is great here for children with disabilities, so Little Bear is doing very well.

Little Duck is growing so fast and is starting to stand on his own. These things make me very happy and I am thankful.

I am also thankful to be in the sun and away from the record breaking rain of Seattle right now.

But, I hate it here. I've never felt less like I fit in somewhere. It's harder to meet people beacause I'm not working and our neighbors are not friendly, which is fine by me but grumpy and I just feel like we stick out like sore thumbs.

Everyone is too religious for us or they are kind of, well, red necky.

I miss my friends. I don't want to make new friends.

I know pity party waa.

It's just been a crappy couple of weeks. Grumpy had started this new job that had sounded so promising and now the company announces they are closing all the stores here in the area. So grumpy just lost his job last week and has to start all over on the job hunt. I mean God our health insurance had only been active for two weeks and then this happens.

I feel like I should go back to work but I want to stay with the baby. I missed so much with Little Bear beacause I had to go back to work.

I know waa waa poor me. I'll sac up and get over it eventually. I just needed to vent.
