i'm back, for now

So here I am back at work. Actually I came back yesterday but I didn't have time to blog or anything because I had a lot of catching up to do. I'm off the drugs, back to my normal schedule and I just got back from the Dr.

She said the baby is doing great and next Thursday we will make a decision about what we need to do and when. This baby is already over 8 pounds, she thinks. Gah! And at this point they gain a half a pound a week so she doesn't want me to go much longer or he'll be ginormous.

I’m at 37 weeks and baby is over 8 pounds. To put things in perspective, Little Bear was born at 37 weeks and he was 6 pounds. If I were to go to term the baby could potentially be about 10 pounds. This is why gestational diabetes sucks.

Start sending those “out baby, out” vibes now, please!!

I had gestational diabetes with both kids, and the first one was MUCH bigger than the 8.5 lbs they expected. They made the second child come out 10 days early and she was still 8.5 lbs.

Oh, I SO feel for you! Y'know, sex is supposed to start contractions, so maybe you need to get 'busy'!

melanie - i'm glad to be back too! i will do what i can, actually i can't have the baby until after the 25th, because grumpy is having a bachelor party at our house on the 25th for his buddy.

chas - dear god, please tell me she had a c-section.

mona - ugh! did you have natural or c-sections? my friend lolly told me that her vagina hurts just from looking at me. i am HUGE! i have heard that about the sex but oh my god, how the hell would we even manage to at this point?

Natural for both, and I'll tell ya more after you have this baby, 'cause I don't want to scare you with my stories! ;-)
