drive on

This morning while driving to work we had the pleasure *snicker* of being behind some dumb broad who was putting on her makeup while driving 65 mph down I-5.

Now I don't have a problem with people putting on makeup at home, or while parked in their car, or on the bus or at work or even while sitting at a red light in their car (unless they don't notice it has changed to green and I have to honk at their stupid ass to get them to move), BUT applying mascara (mascara for fuck sake) while hurtling down a supremely busy highway during rush hour in a heavy, giant metal can made me want to use the push bar on my SUV to shove her stupid ass off the road then pull her out of her car by her hair and smear all her makeup.

I think I have anger issues.

When we finally passed her by, Grumpy and I were confused as to why she would even bother to apply any makeup anyway because even with a trowel it wasn't going to get any better. That made we feel a wee bit better. Dumb bitch.

I still have anger issues.

little fishy

Picture.jpg

Little Bear had swim class tonight with his most awesome instructor Mr. J. Sadly, tonight was Mr. J's last class as he heads back to college next week. Little Bear loves Mr. J and will be confused next week when he has to go swimming with a stranger. *sigh*

On a very exciting note, we got a call today telling us that one of the therapuetic horseback riding centers in the area has an opening for the special needs riding class. LB has been on two waiting lists for over a year. So Little Bear starts hippotherapy next Tuesday! Very cool. Now we just have to scrounge together the money to pay for it. Eeek.

my ears are bleeding

I thought a nice follow up to my favorite songs would be "My Most Hated Songs Ever". It had to go to 50 because there are so many! This list is composed of songs that I hated from the first time I heard them, songs that I may have liked at one time but were so overplayed by mainstream radio (which I only listen to in the car)that I want to poke myself in the ears with sharp objects when they come on and songs that you would think I would love because they are done by bands I love, but when listening to a CD containing the hated song, I must, must, must hit the skip button. There are also a couple that I used to love but now hate because(don't laugh or else) my senior year in high school, I was a pompon girl (NOT A CHEERLEADER!!! We did not cheer! We did dance routines at half time) and the squad let me pick the music. I picked really good songs but after having to hear them over and over at practices and stuff, I still can't bear to hear them now.

Again, in no particular order:

1. Anything by Nirvana - I'm SO over it.
2. All These Things That I've Done - the Killers
3. We built This City on Rock and Roll - Starship
4. I'll Be Missing You - Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, whatever his name is now - he RUINED a great song.
5. Hey Ya! - OutKast
6. I think We're Alone Now- Tiffany
7. Roni - Bobby Brown - I just threw up a little
8. Macarena - Whoever it was
9. Mambo Number 5 - Lou Bega
10. Before E Except After C - Yaz
11. Blue Monday - New Order
12. Wild Thing - Tone Loc
13. Electric Youth - Debbie Gibson
14. I wanna Dance with Somebody - Whitney Houston
15. Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus
16. Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice - The first time I heard it I thought it was Under Pressure, so i turned it up - that pissed me off.
17. Don't Worry, Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin
18. Locomotion - Kylie Minogue
19. Hangin’ Tough - NKOTB - Sorry Kool Mo D
20. Broken Wings - Mr. Mister
21. I want to sex you up - Color Me Badd
22. Poison - Bell Biv, Devoe
23. You’re the Inspiration - Chicago
24. Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex
25. Hammer Time - MC Hammer
26. Kokomo - Beach Boys
27. The Heart Of Rock & Roll - Huey Lewis & the News
28. Everybody Have Fun Tonight - Wang Chung
29. The Sign - Ace of Bass
30. Paul Revere - Beastie Boys
31. Date Rape - Sublime
32. With Arms Wide Open - Creed
33. Little Pink Houses- John Cougar
34. All That She Wants- Ace of Bass
35. Cold Hearted (Snake)- Paula Abdul
36. Everything I Do, I Do for You - Bryan Adams
37. Dude (Looks Like a Lady)- Aerosmith
38. Always - Atlantic Star
39. Where It's At - Beck
40. Hard to Handle - Black Crowes
41. Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
42. Bitch - Meredith Brooks
43. Smokin' in the Boys Room - Brownsville Station
44. Walk Like an Egyptian - The Bangles
45. Sussudio - Phil Collins
46. Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen
47. All I Wanna Do - Cheryl Crow
48. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
49. Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
50. Technopop - Kraftwerk

I feel sick now.

music for the masses

Today my blog entry is stolen straight from New Planet (who of course borrowed it from Neil)

You are supposed to name your top 30 favorite songs of all time with only one song per artist (what a bitch!).

So here goes: (in no particular order - and of course this totally reflects my frame of mind at this particular juncture). And you will see, as many of you already know, I am mostly and forever trapped in the 80's, musically anyway.

1. Silence - Delirium
2. Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush
3. The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove - Dead Can Dance
4. But Not Tonight - Depeche Mode
5. The Chauffer - Duran Duran
6. Never Tear Us Apart - INXS
7. Inbetween Days - The Cure
8. Must I Paint You a Picture - Billy Bragg
9. Waiting for That Day - George Michael
10. Jane Says - Jane's Addiction
11. Blame It on Me - Bare Naked Ladies
12. Suedehead - Morrissey
13. Something About You - Level 42
14. Candy - Iggy Pop & Kate Pierson
15. Happy Phantom - Tori Amos
16. Possession - Sarah McLaughlin
17. Wouldn't It Be Good - Danny Hutton Hitters
18. Brilliant Mind - Furniture
19. Be Near Me - ABC
20. The Sun Always Shines on TV - A-HA
21. This is the Day - The The
22. Sometimes - Erasure
23. Temptation - New Order
24. Love My Way - The Pyschadelic Furs
25. Space Age Love Song - Flock of Seagulls
26. It's a Sin - Pet Shop Boys
27. I drove All Night - Cyndi Lauper
28. Dance Hall Days - Wang Chung
29. Running - Information Society
30. In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel

They also had some floaters bubbling below the surface so I'm including some too...

Cuts You Up - Peter Murphy
Living in Oblivion - Anything Box
Shape of My Heart - Sting
The Promise - When In Rome
Tenderness - General Public
Forever Young - Alphaville

Okay, I have to stop now. This is too hard. I love too many songs to stop at a measly 30!

so cute i could puke

DSCN0443.JPG

Last night Little Bear and I decided to enjoy some cozy time, hanging out in bed and watching some tv before going to sleep. We were not alone. At first I thought it was just the dogs who had joined us but upon closer inspection, I realized that Willow had her paws wrapped around Boo Boo cat, who was being spooned by Tico, who was back to back Keno. It was a tad bit sickening because it was so cute.

dear dad

dad mon baby.jpg

Dear Dad,

I've been thinking about you since I woke up this morning. I've been remembering many of the little moments that made our relationship so special.

I remember how when I was little, you made a special frame and used the hose to freeze over the driveway and make it perfectly smooth so I could ice skate on my own personal ice rink.

I remember how you told me my first semi-dirty joke, on a Sunday, on our way to church. I still remember and tell it on occassion.

I remember how anytime we went on vacation you made us swim laps in the pool before we could play.

I remember how you played catch with me, and taught me how to throw hard and far and hit the ball the same way.

I remember how you were always there for us. You were tough but fair. And you taught me to not be afraid to stand up for myself.

I know when you got sick and couldn't remember your life, that you were fustrated and afraid. I promised then to remember for you, and I always will. I remember everything.

I miss you.

Love,
Bugg
